In today's Daily Rap we see the Game issue a statement regarding the plane crash which injured Travis Barker and DJ AM on Saturday morning. Also, Christina Milian signs with Myspace Records, 50 Cent's new video game might be shelved and Lil Wayne prepares to headline a show in Bahamas.
Game reacts to Plane Crash
Compton rapper the Game issued a statement regarding the fatal plane crash involving Travis barker and DJ AM in the early hours of Saturday morning which resulted in four deaths.
"I am deeply hurt by this tragedy. Travis Barker has always been there for me when I needed him creatively. We've done many songs together. Just recently he appeared in my video (Dope Boyz) that he featured on. I respect and love him, my prayers are with him and his family in this difficult time for his speedy & complete recovery,â said Game.
Barker and DJ AM are currently in an Augusta, Georgia burns unit where they are being treated and both are expected to make a speedy recovery.
Travis Barker the former Blink 182 drummer has worked along side numerous Hip-Hop acts including Busta Rhymes and Pharrell Williams of The Neptunes.
Christina Milian to sign with Myspace Records
Latino singer Christina Milian who was once signed to Def Jam before being dropped due to insufficient sales has a new label to call home.
The pint sized singer who is dating production genius Dre of Cool and Dre fame said in a recent interview "I've been out of the game for one-and-a-half years, and I think I'm long overdue for a comeback, so I'm treating this album like it's my last chance to make an impression. I'm competing with myself and being very detailed.â
Her first album on Myspace Records has production from Cool and Dre, The Runners, JR Rotem and also Timbaland protégé Danja. Expected to make an appearance on the album which is as of yet untitled is Kanye West.
50 Video Game to be Shelved
The highly anticipated, 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, follow up to Bulletproof, the 2005 video game debut from 50 Cent which is expected to hit shelves on November 4th, just in time for the Christmas rush might not see shelf life this year.
Vivendi UK which manufactures the game has put all game releases on hold due to internal reshuffling within the company. No comments have been made by 50 Cent or G Unit in response to this.
Lil Wayne to headline show in Bahamas
After the success of his Carter III project Lil Wayne is heading to the Bahamas for the first time to headline a special show along side Reggae star Buju Banton.
The âPoppin Bottlesâ concert is to be held at the Bristol Wines and Spirits Grounds on Friday 26th of September which is also the rappers 26th birthday. Organized by Red City Entertainment the concert âpromises to showcase a melting pot of the best in Hip-Hop, dancehall and reggae talent from both the US and the Caribbean.â
Lil Wayne has to date sold over 2.5 million copies of his Carter III album which was released on June 10th and just recently re-signed with Cash Money Records where he started his career in Hip-Hop in 1997 as a founding member of the Hot Boys.
