The event in Nashville was the third annual Toys For Joy event hosted by Preston Taylor Boys and Girls Club."It's the way of giving back to my community and just giving back to people in general, residents of Nashville, Tennessee just looking for a Christmas and really having hard times," said Young Buck."You got crime that's rising, so the best thing to do is to be able to give a child hope," he added.Label Lay OffsSome of Hip-Hops most notable labels have had to let go of certain members of staff due to dwindling sales. This last week saw sales drop 23.3% from the same week last year when 18.86 million CDs were sold, this year only 14.45 million units were bought.

Interscope/Geffen let go of 15 members of staff and Columbia Records also had to let employees go. Those that seem to have lost their jobs appear to be more in the publicity and promotions departments. Def Jam was another label that had to let staff go the week before last.

Jackson 5 Reunion

It is speculated that there might be a Jackson 5 reunion this New Year. The location for this gathering is expected to be Hip-Hop Producer/mogul Jermain Dupri's Atlanta nightclub, Studio 72. Dupri who is actually sating Janet Jackson, the younger sister of the the fabulous five made an announcement saying that the five could end up performing at his club during an on air interview with an Atlanta radio station.

Dupri has just recently released a book which details his rise to fame in the music industry. The book is called Young Rich and Dangerous and was released through Atria.

Jay Z inspiration gets nods from Golden Globes

The movie that encouraged Jay Z to release his album bearing the same title as the film, American Gangster has garnered two nods from the Golden Globes. The Globes are said to be a pre run of what is to come and the notorious Oscar (c) Ceremony in March.

The movie was nominated for best film and its leading man Denzel Washington also got the nod for playing the role of Frank Lucas, the Harlem King Pin famed for smuggling heroin from Vietnam during the war in the late 60's.
