Jim Jones sets up shop
Diplomats Co CEO Jim Jones has inked a deal with Sony for himself and his Byrdgang label. Sony spearheaded by Rick Rubin co founder of Def Jam saw the potential in Jim Jones after his independently released album P.O.M.E sold gold. The deal is estimated to be in excess of five million dollars, but as of yet nothing has been confirmed by either party. Jones is stated as saying of the union between himself and Sony as "I got that joint venture, that 50/50 split. They don't give those out anymore. That's a Dame Dash, Ruff Ryders [type of] deal. I'm about to go crazy with it. I'm gonna be a problem."
