Kanye West had to stick his hands right to the bottom of his pockets to cover the expense of filming a documentary about his recent tour, after a major U.S. retailer pulled out of the project as a result of the global recession.
The Stronger superstar admits even he is not immune to the economic crisis and was forced to pay up himself to record his critically-acclaimed Glow In The Dark live shows for an upcoming DVD release.
He tells Complex magazine, "I try to avoid it overly affecting me. But some s**t has happened, like Best Buy was supposed to (shoot and produce) the tour DVD and they pulled out of it. I definitely got hit with that, because not shooting it was not an option, so I had to pay for it."
