Amazon to launch music store
As digital music literally puts CDs into extinction, Amazon have decided to monopolize on the digital boom by launching their own music company that will supply music to a whole range of musical devices from Ipods to the Microsoft Zune. This move will of course possibly put in jeopardy ITunes and such companies who specifically cater to their own devices.

Working with 12,000 companies to provide content it is expected that when the music store launches it will literally control the market by providing music in mp3 format as opposed to the DRM (digital rights management) based format that compaies like ITunes use which restricts consumers to using the purchased music on only one device.
