In today's Daily Rap, a man is found guilty for the murder or T.I.'s friend, Jay-Z and Coldplay are set to join forces, Kanye West cousin is under investigation as a contributing factor to the rapper's mothers death last year and MC Breed's funeral arrangements are announced.
Man Found guilty
Hosea Thomas was found guilty on Wednesday of killing the long standing friend of rapper TI. Philiant Johnson was killed after his friend had performed at a club in Cincinnati and TI and his entourage were fired at on a local highway.
Thomas whose older brother Padron was also charged with the murder will be sentenced on December 23rd and will face a minimum of 20 years behind bars.
Padron Thomas who allegedly drove the vehicle will now receive a lesser sentence having testified against his brother in his trial. He is expected to go to court later this year.
Jay Z and Coldplay to Unite
Looks like music fans in the UK will be in for a special treat in 2009 when two of the worlds biggest acts come together to perform three one off specials.
Jay Z who performed to a packed out crowd at Glastonbury in June will be joining Coldplay on three dates in September next year.
The acts will perform at Lancashire County Cricket Club in Manchester on the 12th, Hampden Park in Glasgow on the 16th and finally Wembley Stadium on the 19th.
Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay has produced tracks for Jay Z including the track Beach Chair from his Kingdom Come album released in 2006 and the artists and their celebrity wives have gone on to become very good friends.
Tickets for these concerts are not yet on sale.
Kanye’s cousin under Investigation
The cousin of Kanye West, Stephan Scoggins is being investigated as a possible factor in the death of the rappers mother Dr. Donda West last year.
Scoggins a registered nurse was to take care of Dr. West after she prematurely discharged herself from hospital after having extensive plastic surgery done.
But is has been uncovered that on the day of her death, Scoggins left to go to a baby shower and it was later that night when Dr. West died.
If investigators do find Scoggins guilty of neglect then he may lose his nursing license.
MC Breed Funeral Arrangements
Legendary rapper MC Breed will be laid to rest on December 2nd at the House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church in Flint Michigan. Breed leaves behind him five children.
His family have asked for donations to be made to support kidney research after the MC died due to issues relating to kidney failure having collapsed and been hospitalized in September of this year after a game of basketball.
