More Bad News for Ludacris

Only last week as he was mid way across the Atlantic to sit on the bench incase Busta Rhymes failed to be allowed to perform at Orange Rock Corps Ludacris found out a fire had gutted part of his home in Atlanta.

This week he sees his sixth studio album Theater of the Mind pushed back to November 25th after a scheduled release of October 21st to tie in with the release of two movies in which he stars.

Ludacris can be currently seen in Guy Richie’s RocknRolla and is also to appear in the movie Max Payne alongside Mark Wahlberg and Nelly Furtado.

No reason has been given for the delay with the album.

Rappers Address the Economy

As part of the HSAN (The Hip-Hop Action Summit Network) various rappers and industry professionals will be holding a meeting in Atlanta GA on October 17th alongside HSAN founder Russell Simmons to discuss the state of the economy in the world right now.

HSAN has been holding various workshops throughout the USA to encourage people to get their finances in order as part of the Get Your Money Right Campaign.

The event on the 17th will be held at Atlanta’s Clark University and will feature panelists such as R&B singer Monica, DJ Drama, DJ Toomp, Fat Joe and new comer Asher Roth.

"The interest of the Hip-Hop community, ultimately, is always about empowerment," Simmons said in a statement. "Given the profound financial challenges facing our nation and world, HSAN's National Hip-Hop Summit on Financial Empowerment is very timely. Beyond being reactive, we will be proactive."

Bow Wow looks for Voters

Rapper Bow Wow is joining a list of names such as Russell Simmons, TI, Sean Combs and Young Jeezy who are hoping to encourage the younger demographic to have their say and vote in the up and coming Presidential Election on November 4th.

Bow Wow has already embarked on a 15 city tour which will appeal to the 18-24 age group to go out and vote on November 4th.

The majority of the cities which the rapper will visit on his journey are down the East Coast and include New York, Nashville, Hartford and the countries capital Washington.

“We are in a different time now. My focus now is to take it a step further to make a change and vote" the rapper explained.

Jay Z recognized by UN

Rapper Jay Z was acknowledged by the United Nations in a ceremony at the Waldorf Astoria in New York earlier this week.

Jay Z born Shawn Carter, was awarded a Global Leadership Award for his work in providing water to children in various African towns which was documented by MTV in 2006.

Attending the event without his wife Beyonce, Jay Z was in good company with the likes of Michael Douglas who presented the award and his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones.

“If you bring awareness to young people, they’re going to see and want to be involved,” Jay-Z stated. “I’m not a politician; I’m just a regular person with a heart. If you see a problem like that and do nothing about it, there’s something wrong with you.”
