In today's Daily Rap we see Busta Rhymes sign with Motown Records, Young Buck faces bankruptcy, Andre 3000 plans to save hip-hop and Jay Z links with Stargate.
Busta signs with Universal Motown
Rapper Busta Rhymes has found himself a new home.
After an alleged dispute with former label boss of Interscope Records to whom Busta signed in 2004, Jimmy Iovine, Busta famed for tracks such as Pass the Courvoisier and Touch It was dropped from the label.
His eighth studio album is set to be released on Universal Motown on December 9th. Universal Motown is also home to rapper Nelly.
Young Buck broke?
After a public back and forth between former label boss 50 Cent, once a G Unit rapper Young Buck faces the bankruptcy court after his ousting from the label.
Buck born David Brown was kicked out of G Unit after making various remarks about his association with 50 Cent not being what it once was. After dropping Buck from G Unit, 50 announced that Buck is still signed to the label, G Unit Records.
Buck was also supposed to launch his own label Cashville Records through Sony Red this summer but all this fell apart after the split.
It is rumored however that Buck is looking to sign with anyone who will have him in order to avoid the bankruptcy courts including the labels of 50 Centâs enemies, Fat Joe and Ja Rule.
Recent reports also announced that the IRS to whom Buck owes a considerable amount of money for back taxes had seized cars and jewels which were put up for auction.
Andre 3000 back to save Hip-Hop
Possibly one of the most prolific rappers in the current Hip-Hop climate is put a smile on the faces of fans as he talked about his solo debut which may possibly see shelves as soon as this year.
The flamboyant rapper who has just recently launched his own clothing line has pretty much kept to himself in the creation of this album with features kept to a minimum.
Andre is one half of the legendary Atlanta duo Outkast who have sold over 30 million copies of their albums and were one of only three Hip-Hop acts to have an album be certified Diamond (ten million copies shipped) by the RIAA for Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.
Jay Z links with Norwegian Duo
Famed rapper/Mogul Jay Z has linked with the Norwegian production duo Stargate to form a new label StarRoc.
The production dup have been responsible for tracks from some of the music industries most famous including Jay Zâs wife Beyonce, Mary J Blige, Neyo and Rihanna.
Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel S. Eriken who are base din Manhattan were also responsible for records by UK performers Blue Misteeq and Atomic Kitten.
They have worked together for ten years. A statement has yet to be released by jay Z about the merge.
