In today's Daily Rap we see Akon getting in more trouble after having sex with an underage girl, Kanye West prepares for the release of his latest album, Robin Thicke is too white for Vibe and Blender deem Tupac Most over-rated in music.
Akon in more hot water
After getting into serious hot water last year after simulating sex with an under age girl at a concert in the West Indies and then throwing a concert goer off stage at a show in upstate New York, it looks like Akon just canât seem to handle fans at all.
A recent video of a show he conducted in South Africa this past weekend has surfaced showing the Konvict singer body surfing through the crowd only to smack a female into the crowd when he gets to his destination as she tries to hug him.
Akon who is signed to Steve Rifkind's label SRC was recently in the media for alleged fabrication of his so called past life, insinuating that he had in fact been incarcerated for charges which werenât actually true.
Kanye to deliver new album
As the year anniversary of the release of Kanye Westâs third album approaches, September 11th saw him go head to head with 50 Cent, it was announced yesterday that the Chicago rapper/producer will be coming out with another album expected to hit shelves in December.
The album which is tentatively called Good Ass Job is being tipped to top the biggest selling rap album this year which is currently held by Lil Wayne who moved a million units of his Carter III project when it was released in June of this year.
As of yet any information on the album from Mr. West is somewhat sketchy but the first single is to be Love Lock Down which he performed accapella to at a show this weekend to give fans a little taste of what is to come.
Robin Thicke too white for Vibe
Soul sensation Robin Thicke recently made comments against the American magazine Vibe in regards to race.
Thicke who is famed for tracks such as Lost Without You said he would never make the cover of Vibe magazine because he was white and that Vibe had in fact said they donât put white people on the cover of the magazine.
Danyel Smith, EIC of the magazine has actually come out and said that getting a âVibe cover is a huge milestone in any artists careerâ yet not responding to the comments made about the racial implications implied by Thicke.
âWhite peopleâ however who have actually graced the cover of Vibe include Gwen Stefani, Eminem and Robert De Niro.
Blender deem Tupac Most over-rated in music
Joel Levy the EIC of Blender magazine and his staff have literally incited what could be the biggest debate of the year by crowning Tupac Shakur the Most Over-rated Artist in Music in his October edition of Blender.
Appearing on the list is also The Grammies and UK band Pink Floyd.
Tupac Shakur has been recognized by various music aficionados as one of the best, if not the best lyricist of all time. He was shot and killed in Las Vegas on September 7th 2006.
