In today's daily rap we see DMX arrested again, Missy Elliot's release pushed back, Game starting beef with Jay-Z and Ludacris and TI coming together at long last.
Rapper DMX arrested again
Phoenix based rapper DMX was arrested again yesterday for failing to make a court appearance in Phoenix earlier this week.
The rapper was arrested while shopping in a Miami Wal-Mart. DMX was expected to appear in court on drugs and weapons charges earlier this week but was absent from court with his legal representation citing illness for his failure to appear.
Lil Wayne and Young Berg also missed court dates in NYC this week.
Missy pushed back
Possibly one of the most awarded females in Hip-Hop, Missy Elliot sees her seventh studio album pushed back due to the Virginia native still recording for `Block Party which is expected to feature production from long time cohort and his apprentice, Timbaland and Danjahandz.
Also expected on the album is Pharrell and the Souldiggaz. The last album from Missy was the 2005 Cook Book which saw he stray away from the usual partnership with Timbaland in terms of production. Many critics blame the dismal sales of this album in comparison to others on this void.
Game looking for beef with Jay Z
Jay Z allegedly made comments at Wimbledon this year that have upset Comptonâs very own rapper Game.
Having been asked what the deal was with Game, Jay Z is reported to have said âwe are just going to watch him commit suicide.â Unaware of this remark, Game went on air in a radio interview with Kiss 104.7 this past week and was informed of the comment and then made various comments about âbattlingâ Jay Z and how he could do to the Glastonbury headliner, what he did to G Unit.
Jay Z has yet to respond to the Game and it is highly unlikely he ever will.
His LAX album is hitting shelves on August 26th and it is apparent that any press is good press for the rapper who is said to be retiring after his third album has been promoted.
Atlanta fans gets ready
Turns out two of the biggest names in Atlanta are putting any issues that were once behind them. TI and Ludacris have come together on a track from Ludacrisâs next album Theatre of the Mind which is slated to hit shelves in October.
The track which features the ATL titans has caused quite a stir as the industry and fans thought this day might come, but obviously it has.
âWe'd figure if it ain't no problem and we don't have no issues, no beef, then there's no reason we shouldn't be able to get together and make music. That was an executive decision that was made on both our behalves,â explained TI on the union. For a long time there was always hostility between the two rappers and their camps.
