In today's Daily Rap there's trouble at a DMX concert, Foxy Brown to be released from prison, The Carter III pushed back, Russell Simmons raises money for fundraiser.
Trouble breaks out at DMX concert
In true DMX style, the rapper turned up late to a concert at the Indiana University this week and performed only three songs before being taken off stage by authorities for a noise violation.
It had been stipulated that all noise surrounding the concert would be over by 9.30 pm but because the rapper failed to show at 8.30 and started his set an hour late, the police were called in to close the show down.
The crowd then got extremely upset and started throwing objects at the police and had to be evicted from the venue. No arrests were made.
Foxy is homeward bound
Troubled femcee Foxy Brown will be heading home next week after serving her sentence on Rikers Island. The Brooklyn born rapper was jailed a little over eight months ago for violation of her probation stemming from an assault back in 2004.
Her album with Koch records Brooklynâs Don Diva which was expected to hit shelves earlier this year will now be released on May 13 to correlate with the rappers release.
It has also been mentioned in an interview with her manager Chaz Williams that there is talks of a reality TV show in the works for the rapper.
The Carter III pushed back
The highly anticipated album, The Carter III from Cash Money artist Lil Wayne has been pushed back for a June release. The album was expected to hit shelves in May but Lil Wayne who has been ridiculed for his choice of beverage lately is said to be taking his time with the album and working with those he really wants to work with.
Lil Wayne has been noted for tackling his addiction to syrup which he drinks when performing on stage. The notorious beverage used primarily by rappers in the Southern states is a dangerous combination of Promethazine, Codeine and a mixer of either soda or juice.
It is this concoction that has taken the lives of DJ Screw and contributed to the late death of Pimp C.
