In today's Daily Rap Alicia Keys is ready to release new record, Diplomats brand not owned by Jim Jones, Paul Wall and Chamillionaire share stage and TI won't be hosting ThanksgivingAlicia Keys ready to release new albumFamed songstress Alicia Keys is releasing her third album next week. Songs in A Minor the NYC natives first album went multi platinum worldwide in 2001 and helped the protege of Clive Davis earn nine Grammy awards. As I am is her first project since The Diary of Alicia Keys back in 2003. It features collaborations with John Mayer and Alicia's long time partner Kerry 'Krucial' Brothers. The first single off the album shot to the top of the R&B charts showing that Alicia is still able to keep her extensive fan base happy.Diplomats Brand not owned by Jim JonesA Harlem based producer has gone on the record and stated that he is actually the owner of the brand used by Diplomats including Jim Jones and Cam' Ron. Darrell "Digga" Branch who has produced many tracks for the Dips says he and Cam were originally the masterminds behind the NYC faction who have moved many albums and mixtapes. Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, Freekey Zeekey and Cam' Rom make up the nucleus of the group, but Branch has now revealed that the actually company belongs to him and Cam' Ron.
The reason he has suddenly decided to come forward with his story is because he is disappointed with Cam'Ron's behavior and considers the rapper 'selfish.' Cam' Ron had disappeared from the scene after a public 'battle' ensued between himself and 50 Cent late last year. The void left by him has caused many Hip-Hoppers to question the future of the Diplomats. However a mixtape was released only this week by the pink loving rapper and general consensus within the confines of the industry is that Cam is making a come back.
Houston Rappers Reunite
Students at Texas State University were enthralled to see rappers Paul Wall and Chamillionaire appear on stage together at a concert last night.
The two childhood friends and former members of the Color Changing Click had not spoken to each other in over five years since parting ways. Their album Get Ya Mind Correct which moved considerable units for an independent release saw the duo parting ways due to artistic differences.
Both have never commented on their relationship in interviews but appearing on stage at the concert together and performing one of their old tracks might have just been the turning point for both rappers.
TI wont be hosting Thanksgiving
Lawyers for bailed rapper TI have dropped their request to the courts asking permission for their client to hold a family Thanksgiving Dinner at his home in Jonesboro, Georgia.
The rapper, who is facing charges for purchasing guns and silencers as a convicted felon has requested, since being granted bail of $3 million, that 95 people be allowed to visit him at the home he shares with his girlfriend and children.
As background checks have to be ran on everyone visiting the rapper whilst on house arrest, this has become an annoyance to the courts. Therefore representation for TI have opted to drop the rappers request to host a family dinner.
