BEP Taboo Arrested
Taboo, one quarter of the Black Eyed Peas was arrested earlier this week in Los Angeles after a car crash. The artist as found to be driving while under the influence of alcohol and had is his possession an ounce of marijuana and unprescribed medication. He was released and will appear in court on a later date.The Black Eyed Peas have sold over twenty million records worldwide and have won three Grammy awards. Their new album is expected to hit shelves some time in Autumn and is tentatively titled From Roots to Fruits.Olivia dropped From G Unit
R&B singer Olivia has been officially dropped from G Unit after rumors circulated on the web this past week about her being let go due to personal issues with her fellow label mates.Olivia who signed to G Unit back in 2004 was previously signed to Clive Davis's J Records. She had yet to release a project on G Unit, but had featured on numerous tracks with G Unit artists such as 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks and Young Buck.Fabolous Album Pushed Back Again
Brooklyn rapper Fabolous has had his fourth studio album pushed back yet again. Signed to Def Jam the rapper has had his album From Something to Nothing pushed back five times since December.Fabolous was discovered by and signed to DJ Clue's imprint Desert Storm and is famed for tracks such as Holla Back Young Un and Can't Deny It.
Akon headed for Double Platinum
Singer Akon is close to double platinum with his second solo album Konvitced. Signed to SRC, the label which also houses David Banner and Wu Tang Klan, Akon has become a popular figure within the music world.Having produced for and featured on tracks from many different artists he has been nominated for both Grammies and Billboard Awards since he first came to our attention with his song Locked Up.
His recent album features the songs Smack That featuring Eminem and I Wanna Love You.
Third Time a Charm
Super producer Timbaland is remaking the Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrel song You're All I need to Get By.Leading man and lady status on the song will go to Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake after Timbaland made it obvious that he hoped to help Britney kick start her career after her recent marital problems and her struggles with alcohol.
The classic Motown song was re-made in the early 90's when Method Man and Mary J Blige collaborated on the track produced by The RZA.
