Girls Aloud have officially called it a day, with the band announcing after their live show last night in Liverpool that they had “come to the end of our incredible time together”.
While we all knew it was coming, last night we finally got confirmation that this was it for the girl band as they posted a short statement to Twitter declaring that the band were finally through.
The statement reads; “Dear Alouders, we just want to say from the bottom of our hearts Thank you!!
“This tour has been an amazing experience and the perfect chance to say thank you for being on this journey with us through a decade. It has far exceeded any of our dreams and we hope we are forever your inspiration and reminder that dreams really do glitter!!
“Your love and support will stay with us forever but we have now come to the end of our incredible time together. Love you lots.”
The band had been a powerhouse of pop in the last decade, not having a single land outside the top ten between 2002 and 2009, with all of their albums also going platinum. This year will also see Sarah Harding become the final member of the group launch a solo album.
