On November 28 in 1991, Nirvana appeared on Top of the Pops.
After being told they'd have to mime playing their instruments to a live instrumental backing track, they decided to make sure the performance was one everybody remembered.
Singing in a strange, low key, Kurt Cobain sounded far away from the incredible vocalist on 'Smells Like Teen Spirit', and the rest of the group didn't even bother to make an effort when it came to pretending to strum their guitars.
Jumping around the stage they hit back at the show producers and proved they were one of rock's biggest pranksters.
