Beyonce

On most artists' records there are a handful of tracks that never make it to single status that we think should have definitely been given the full release treatment.

Glossy music videos and over the top radio play would have seen this almost-hits soar straight to the top of the charts - or at least give it a good go - and it's a travesty that they'll now most likely never see the light of day again.

So we've decided to take a look back at six of our favourite pop songs that never were.

Christina Aguilera - 'Let There Be Love'

Christina hasn't had the best of luck with her past two albums and the singles haven't fared well either, but I reckon with a summer release this could have smashed the charts and been a necessity for any party. It definitely needed more attention than it got, and would've been lifted from a very underrated album - 'Lotus'.

Lady Gaga - 'Dance In The Dark'

It opened her amazing Monster Ball world tour, and was on the wishlist of every Little Monster to become a single, because the music video had potential to be absolutely out of this world. Gaga's creative brain is like nothing else we've ever witnessed, so I'd have loved to see what she'd come up with here.

Beyonce - 'Hello'

Haunting and able to send a shiver down your spine with the pitch perfect vocals, Beyonce delivers yet another fantastic rendition of an original song that puts a spin on the famous saying 'you had me at hello'. I'm thinking a Jay-Z cameo in the potential music video, as the pair ballroom dance reminiscent of the scenes in Beauty and the Beast... no?

Whitney Houston - 'Same Script, Different Cast' featuring Deborah Cox

A fabulous collaboration that is one of Whitney's last pieces of works before her untimely death. The pair exchange words over a man in this fabulously over the top and powerful ballad, tackling the subject head-on and making jabs at one another throughout. It, is, AMAZING!

Ke$ha - 'The Harold Song'

I have absolutely no idea why Ke$ha hasn't yet let her vulnerable side be shown to the wider general public, as this track really manages to show off the one thing she really needs to prove - that she can actually sing. It's a ballad about an actual boyfriend that she misses, and it should touch anyone listening. 100% genuine and made me personally look at Ke$ha in a different light.

The Wanted - 'I'll Be Your Strength'

This would be the perfect track to say goodbye as The Wanted bow out for a hiatus, despite them having released another full studio album since this one appeared on their second. Bandmembers Jay McGuinness and Nathan Sykes had a hand in writing the heartwrenching ballad, and it shines as a track like none other we've heard from them before or since.
