Fans of late comedian Rik Mayall are now campaigning for his 2010 World Cup song 'Noble England to reach number one on the official UK charts.
A Facebook group was set up by fans and has now reached over 10,000 likes, whilst a Twitter account has also been launched.
The man who organised Rage Against the Machine's successful Christmas chart-topper back in 2009 - Jon Morter - has backed the campaign encouraging fans to download the track following Mayall's death on June 9.
"It would be a great thing for Rik's memory. He was a comedy legend. Rage Against The Machine was more of a protest, whereas this campaign seems to be a way of displaying respect. It's a vehicle for a lot of people to say something and it would be a great accolade." Morter said.
Despite not charting when it was officially released, it has been given a second wind and now sits at number 14 on the iTunes UK chart and number 1 on Amazon at time of writing.
Rik Mayall's cause of death is still unknown.
