Spotify reveals R. Kelly's 'Ignition' is world's most popular #TBT song of all time

It's the ninth anniversary of the original Throwback Thursday (#TBT), now a weekly global phenomenon, and Spotify have celebrated the event by revealing the world's most popular #TBT tracks of all time.

Taking the crown is R. Kelly's smash hit 'Ignition', followed closely by early 2000s party tune 'Yeah!' by Usher, Lil Jon and Ludacris. Beyoncé and Jay Z come in at third with their collaborative hit 'Crazy In Love'. Shaggy and Ricardo Ducent sit at fourth with 'It Wasn't Me' and Gwen Stefani rounds off the top five with 'Hollaback Girl'.

Identifying the most popular #TBT music of all time saw Spotify review more than 80,000 playlists on the service which contained the words 'Throwback Thursday' or 'TBT' in their titles, before discovering which songs showed up the most frequently.

Repeat artists with multiple tracks all within the top 30 across the world include Justin Timberlake and OutKast, as well as 50 Cent.
