Female First can today exclusively reveal an album sampler for Mamas Gun new record 'Cheap Hotel' - out Monday. But what did we think of the record? Read on for our review...

From the first vocals heard in 'Red Cassette', it's easy to see just why the band appeal to audiences all over the world, and the electronic sound showcased in the title track proves why fans in Asia have such high demand for the group.

Whilst they play directly into those hands, they're not afraid to slow things down on tunes including 'Burn And Fade', which allow lead singer Andy Platt to really show off his talent.

'Jessie' is a major standout, hypnotic and enigmatic followed by the soulful 'Love Logic' and it's the group's ability to switch things up at every twist and turn of the record that keeps you intrigued.

Mamas Gun

One moment you'll be listening to a song that would sound fantastic in a jazz bar ('People On The Run'), and the next you're on to something utterly different.

The funk and groove on offer in 'Siamese Jackson' only adds to the fact that this is a band as versatile as they come.

Uplifting and pleasant throughout, Mamas Gun are doing everything in their power to appeal to new ears whilst delivering exactly what their fans want, and their efforts do not go unnoticed in 'Cheap Hotel'.

Mamas Gun's new album 'Cheap Hotel' is out Monday, September 15.
