After a heated exchange with One Direction member Louis Tomlinson on Twitter, producer Naughty Boy has released a demo of Zayn Malik singing solo and has asked the fans to "let the music do the talking. there is nothing but love for what was left behind. that's why we don't mind."
The producer also teased the possibility of future collaborations between the pair, adding the hashtag #2006 to his comments as well as #zaughty and #zindabad.
News that Zayn had been in the studio with Naughty Boy isn't fresh, after the two were spotted together in the studio over the weekend just following Malik's announcement he had quit One Direction, saying he wanted to now be a "normal 22-year-old".
Naughty Boy has in the past worked with British talent including Sam Smith and Emeli Sande, and released his solo debut album in August 2013.
Meanwhile, Zayn's face has now been removed from a video montage of One Direction, digitally erased from the clip which opens at their world tour.
