Labrinth is back after recently returning to the charts with comeback tune 'Let It Be', and has a new music video for fans to feast on in support of new single 'Jealous'.
The ballad addresses the parent who left Labrinth's family when he was only four years old, known only to relatives and friends as Timothy McKenzie.
"A lot of people have been through that experience. It's kind of written from the perspective of how my family felt at the time, but I wanted to write it so anyone could dig into the song and relate it to their own situation" the singer explains.
Written with Josh Kear and Natalie Hemby during an American writing trip, Labrinth decided to spend some time in Nashville - the home of country music - in a bid to "be a better songwriter".
"It was a great trip to teach me how to upgrade my skill." he adds.
Taken from forthcoming album 'Take Me To The Truth', Labrinth showcased the lead single and new song 'Missbehavin' on Later With Jools Holland ahead of the LP's release in early 2015.
'Jealous' is officially released on November 23.
