Many thought Justin Bieber would give 2014 everything he had, taking a short break out of the spotlight and putting his negative past behind him, but recent activity behind the wheel of a Lamborghini means that he's on all the front pages making headlines once more for all the wrong reasons.
Taking a look back at his behaviour in 2013, it's clear to see that if the number of allegations are true, this guy's a troubled one who's been allowed to get away with whatever he pleases for far too long.
His trip to the UK in March saw him lunge at a photographer in a fit of rage after being disallowed entry to a nightclub on his birthday. Returning to his home, a neighbour went on to accuse Bieber of spitting at him and threatening to kill him.
A pet monkey - Mally - was taken along on the star's trip to Munich, but seized by authorities when they realised he didn't have the correct documentation for the animal's travel.
Later that month he visited the house of Anne Frank, writing in her guestbook that he hoped she would have been a Belieber - a move that caused outrage that he was in fact thinking of himself in a time that for many is a tender and humbling experience.
A neighbour in California complained once more in May, and Justin was investigated for battery following an altercation.
July saw him photographed and filmed urinating in a bucket while leaving a New York City nightclub, leaving many wondering just when his reign of idiocy would come to an end.
Things then went quiet for a short period of time, but he gained more critics when he uploaded a picture to his Instagram of his security guards carrying him up the Great Wall of China.
A Brazil trip in November saw claims of him and a friend spending over three hours in a brothel before leaving with two girls, and he was charged by authorities in the country after he graffitied on a hotel wall.
He'd finally had enough in December, writing that it was time to retire on his social media and re-stating that he was taking a break on a radio station, but fans weren't convinced, claiming he was mocking the media and making a joke.
Now, we're in a brand new year, but an egg throwing incident - once again with a neighbour - saw his house raided by police and just this week he was arrested following drag racing, driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol and driving with an out-of-date licence. He's been released on $2,500 bail (just over £1,500), and was reportedly brought to tears, despite his cheery looking mugshot.
Perhaps what Bieber needs now is for those around him to stop enabling his ridiculous and petty actions that lead to such stupid situations. Everybody continues to support him despite his many, many mistakes, leading to his refusal to accept he has done anything wrong.
This could be the wake-up call the teen heartthrob needs to realise that he is living an extremely privileged lifestyle, and is a role model for millions of kids worldwide.
I for one certainly hope so.
