Following on from his sensational performance of Prince classic hit 'Purple Rain' during the live semi-final of The Voice earlier this year, musician Jolan is back with the acoustic video version of the song, which Female First can now exclusively reveal.
During his time on the BBC talent series, Jolan was mentored by coach Ricky Wilson - the frontman of rock group the Kaiser Chiefs.
The song itself is taken from Jolan's forthcoming four-track EP, 'Parallel', which he'll be releasing via Virgin on November 22.
Jolan comments: "Prince has been the one main musical inspiration in my life. Be it his musicianship, lyrics, showmanship, so many things. He was one of the very few who knew how to be timeless and knew how to write hit after hit. He was and still is the definition of music to me. Everything he wrote was gold."
Three other covers feature on the record, with the EP opening with an upbeat cover of Terence Trent D'Arby's 'Wishing Well'. He also strips back The 1975's 'Somebody Else' and takes a soulful turn with Beyonce's single, 'XO'.
