With just the right attitude to do exactly what it takes to get to the top, Chess Galea - real name Francesca Galea - is slowly but surely building a name for herself in the world of music.
Managing her own career, she's been able to gain radio airplay in the UK as well as Malta and Australia, reaching number one on the Maltese radio charts with her song 'Stilettos'.
A collaboration later came with Ministry of Sound DJ Xenia Ghali, and last November saw the release of her debut EP 'Babygirl', self-written with the help of producer Edd Holloway.
Her second EP 'Tuxedo' came soon after and saw Chess featured on BBC Introducing, as well as the Best of British Unsigned.
More recently, the Malta Music Awards named Chess as a nominee for Best Solo Artist in Malta, and it's unlikely that this will be the last accolade she'll have a shot at winning.
Growing and adapting as an artist seems to now be coming naturally to Chess, who's getting better with every release - one of the latest being the brilliant 'Vanity', which even pays homage to Carly Simon's 'You're So Vain'.
Chess Galea's latest EP 'Tuxedo' is available now.
