Today (November 6), John Lewis released its 2015 Christmas advert Man on the Moon, with Norwegian singer/songwriter Aurora providing the vocals for Oasis track 'Half The World Away' throughout the piece.
At just 19, Aurora becomes the youngest ever singer to be chosen to perform on a John Lewis Christmas ad, with her voice set to fill the homes of millions in the lead-up to the festive period, reminding others to think of those less fortunate at this time of the year.
Chatting about her involvement, Aurora said: "It's really wonderful to be a part of this year's John Lewis commercial. I absolutely adore Christmas! I've been preparing my Christmas spirit since March, so it's been lovely working on a Christmas advertisement during the last weeks. And also I think it is brilliant, 'Show someone they're loved at Christmas', it's a beautiful message and an important reminder. And also I love the moon. Very magical."
Writing songs from the age of nine, Aurora kept her talents to herself for six years, never dreaming of standing on world stages or becoming a part of the 'fame cycle'. Writing about her own feelings in a bid to help herself, she was also hopeful that through her music, she could help others.
The John Lewis ad launched today on social media, and will feature on television for the first time this evening during the first ad break of Gogglebox on Channel 4.
'Half The World Away' is available now on Decca Records, with Aurora's debut album set for release next year.
