Having just got back from a fabulous Skiing holiday I’m feeling particularly inspired to share with you all my favourite winter events! I’m particularly looking forward to the winter Olympics in South Korea. Here are just four of the brilliant events, shows and the like taking place this winter (and beyond!) that I can't wait to indulge in!

Snowbombing Festival

Snowbombing festival is set to take place from the 9th - 14th of April 2018 in Mayrhofen, Austria .  Snowbombing is one of the most unheard of but literally one of the coolest festivals out there. The lineup is one to look out for with live performances from big names such as Liam Gallagher and Dizzee Rascal. There are also plenty of DJ sets from the likes of Rudimental, Wilkinson and many others. This festival is perfect for Skiing enthusiasts like myself. You can hit the slopes by day and go to the festival in the evening through to the early morning.

Snowboxx

Snowboxx festival takes place from the 17th - 24th of March in Avoriaz, France. One not to be missed as this festival features sets from superstar DJ’s such as Chase and Status and Fatboy Slim. Speaking from experience Fatboy Slim plays one of the most engaging, interactive and energetic sets around. A bonus is that you can enjoy all of this music in on of the most beautiful ski resorts that europe has to offer. On top of all this, you’ll get the chance to party at Snowboxx’s famous Igloo parties. These parties feature beautiful ice sculptures accompanied by pounding music. It’s something a bit different if you’re used to going to summer music festivals and definitely worth checking out!

2018 Winter Olympics Pyeongchang

This year’s winter Olympics takes place in South Korea. The games begin on the 9th February with the grand opening ceremony. The competition will feature an exciting array of winter sports from the ‘heart in the mouth’ Luge to the slightly more graceful figure skating. If you’re not lucky enough to be attending the winter Olympics this year, you can catch the games televised across the BBC and on the red button. I always love watching the winter Olympics as I am massively into skiing and I always seem to come away from watching them with a new favourite sport that I never even knew existed!

Winter certainly kicked off in style on the 7th of January with the long anticipated return of everyone's favourite sunday night entertainment show ‘Dancing on Ice’. ITV kicked off the new series in style. The first episode even featured a professional skater taking to the ice on a motorbike! This series features all your favourite celebrities including ‘Love Island’s’ Kem Cetinay, Bake Off’s Candice Brown and the infectious energy of Coronation Street’s Antony Cotton. There is plenty of talent on the ice this year with Jake Quickenden and Kem Cetinay claiming joint first place on the leaderboard. Unfortunately poor Candice Brown was the first to find herself in the dance off. Dancing on Ice will be sure to make you want to give ice skating a go yourself this Winter! However, If skating isn’t for you, it’s just as fun to watch with a blanket and a cup of tea.

Whatever you get up to this winter, wrap up warm and have a good one!
