Jay Z's '99 Problems', sampled Billy Squier's 'The Big Beat'
He may have had 99 problems while filming, but 'The Big Beat' definitely wasn't one as the song was woven into this rap tune that still reigns prevelant today.
Kanye West's 'Jesus Walks', sampled Curtis Mayfield's 'If There's A Hell Below, We're All Going To Go'
Released a whole ten years ago, there were two video versions of this track released, and the song became one of those that truly cemented Kanye West as a force to be reckoned with the industry.
Beyoncé's 'Crazy in Love' featuring Jay-Z, sampled Chi-Lites 'Are You My Woman (Tell Me So)'
Her debut solo single, little did Beyoncé know that this would catapult her into superstardom and allow her to maintain a steady career right up until this present day, 11 years later.
The Verve's 'Bitter Sweet Symphony', sampled The Andrew Oldham Orchestra's 'The Last Time'
Back in 1997, English alt-rock band The Verve released this tune as their lead single from their third studio album. The song became such a classic that they played it at the Live 8 concert in Hyde Park in 2005 with Coldplay.
Eminem's 'Stan' featuring Dido, sampled Dido's 'Thank You' and Eminem's 'My Name Is'
Teaming up with Dido, many weren't sure if this would be a great decision for one of the biggest names in rap, but it turned out to be one of the best he's made. The term 'stan' has been lifted from the track and is used today to describe dedicated fans of artists throughout the industry.
