Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande

As 2013 draws to a close, we take a look at four of our favourite artists who've made a massive splash onto the music scene this year, cementing themselves a place in the industry for some time to come.

Lorde

She smashed onto the scene with her hypnotic hit song 'Royals', and has been hitting the headlines for both the right and wrong reasons ever since.

Seeming to have no filter, she's also poked fun at herself for looking like Gollum from the Lord of the Rings series when she takes to the stage to perform.

The New Zealand star has received amazing critical acclaim for her debut album Pure Heroine, and her unique tone is one we think will rule the radio waves for years to come.

Emma Stevens

Everything a pop star needs to be, Emma Stevens managed to enchant the country with her single Riptide and followed it up with a fantastic album - 'Enchanted' - made up of four EPs which she released throughout the year.

Her passion for her craft, and willingness to succeed are what has gotten her to where she is today, and we hope she continues to go down the path of doing well.

Tom Odell

'Another Love' managed to reach number ten on the UK iTunes chart, and he even got invited to perform at the X Factor live final.

His vocals are truly unique - you're either going to love them or reach to change the station - but if there's one thing that's certain, it's that he has the ability to be instantly recognised because of them.

Ariana Grande

She's got the vocal ability to become as big as Mariah Carey, and she's even dating The Wanted's very own Nathan Sykes.

Her debut album 'Yours Truly' was released in August and managed to fight its way to the very top of the US Billboard 200, selling 138,000 copies in its opening week in America alone.

This made Grande the first female to top the charts with their first album debut since Kesha's success in 2010.
