Beyonce Knowles on stage

Beyonce is still currently working on her fifth record - which has no release date set - but which is promised to be "monumental" by Rob Stringer, chairman of Columbia Records.

Anticipation is at an all time high, and with new tour dates set in the UK for February and March of next year, the LP could be closer than any of us can imagine.

What do we want from Beyonce's fifth studio offering, though? She's provided us with hit after hit, smash after smash - so what's the perfect recipe for number five?

A splash of 'Survivor'

The sass and perfect vocals present throughout this Destiny's Child hit made it one of the biggest songs in history that's recognised around the globe to this very day, providing the perfect anthem for anyone going through a messy breakup or tough times.

A cut of 'Crazy in Love' (featuring Jay-Z)

It was Bey's first number one single as a solo artist and won multiple awards, while providing the meeting place for our superstar and her now-husband Jay-Z. Taking Grammys and landing at the top of charts, polls and lists, 'Crazy in Love' proved that an addictive hook and awesome chemistry are what can lead to some major success.

An inch of 'Irreplaceable'

Originally a country record that was re-arranged to become a mid-tempo pop ballad, 'Irreplaceable' is that song that everybody who's been in a tumultuous relationship can relate to. Females all across the world tell estranged partners "to the left, to the left" at the end of a rocky road, and Beyonce's influence is left imprinted on a generation once more.

A hint of 'Hello'

One of the least well-known tracks from the third solo album 'I Am... Sasha Fierce' is 'Hello' - an amazing and uplifting love song where Beyonce explores the story of finding love at first sight, and a refreshing change from the empowerment tracks that are dotted throughout her discography.

A lashing of 'Love On Top'

Fun, exciting and almost jazzy - the song is something different for the woman who can seemingly do no wrong - and was a welcome addition to '4'. Bey performed the track at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2011 before dropping her mic and unbuttoning her jacket to reveal a pregnant belly underneath.

Mix it all together and add a delicious sprig of originality and you have the perfect recipe for Beyonce's fifth studio album.
