In the round-up of music achievements for the decade James Blunt's Back to Bedlam has taken the number one the biggest selling album of the period.
Dido had two albums in the top ten, in second place was her No Angel was the second most popular, while her album Life For Rent also made the top 10 at number eight say figures released by the Official Charts Company.
Amy Winehouse's 2006 album Back to Black took the number three spot, while new comer X Factor winner Leona Lewis, whose album Spirit (2007)was at four. David Gray's White Ladder,(2000), completed the top 5 UK best-selling albums of the decade.
Just missing out on a top five place was the The Beatles compilation album at number six in the UK chart, though in consilation it was the best selling album of the decade in the U.S..
Scissor Sisters were the only none UK band to get in the top ten as eponymous their debut album slipped in at number nine.
In the U.S. Eminem scored two top five bestsellers. The Marshall Mathers album of 2000, was at four, while the 2002 follow-up, The Eminem Show, was at five, with N' Sync with No Strings attached taking the number two spot behind the Beatles, according to figures released by Billboard
