Toni Braxton

Toni Braxton

Soul sensation Toni Braxton is back and ready to captivate the music world once more with ‘Yesterday’, her brand new single out May 3 via Atlantic Records.  It is the first new music from the Grammy Award winning artist in five years taken from her forthcoming 6th studio effort – PULSE out on May 10.

Ever since 1991 when she first burst onto the contemporary music scene with “Love Shoulda Brought You Home”, Toni Braxton has earned a worldwide fan base of music lovers.  As the 'First Lady Of LaFace Records,' she yielded a non-stop run of multi-platinum albums. Along the way, she distinguished herself with unforgettable hit singles like “Breathe Again” and “Un-Break My Heart,” (both of which peaked at number 2 in the UK), “Another Sad Love Song,” "You're Makin' Me High" and "He Wasn't Man Enough” stacking up five Grammy Awards in the process.

Inspired by the likes of Stevie Wonder, Anita Baker, Chaka Khan and Whitney Houston, it was when Toni was studying to become a teacher at Bowie State University that she came to the attention of LaFace owners L.A. Reid and Babyface.

Her decade with LaFace was filled with both accomplishment and challenge; while she constantly achieved chart success globally, racking up some forty-million worldwide sales through her five albums with them, Toni dealt with a much-publicised bankruptcy in 1997 which she recalled was “a major learning opportunity.” Resolved in 1998, Toni began her debut into theatre that year with a starring role on Broadway.
