Welcome to the new album from The Hussy’s – ‘Super Pro’. Big, bold, brash in places; delicate and vulnerable in others, the album showcases the vocals of 23 year old lead singer Fili married with the songwriting and musicianship of The Hussy’s.
The Hussy’s are a 5-piece band from Glasgow featuring 23-year old vocalist Fili and have released 3 EPs and a single on Weekender Records, and also an album in Japan on the Quince label.
The band have picked up airplay and performed several live sessions on various radio stations, including Radio 2, Radio Scotland and XFM, as well as filming for several TV shows with the BBC and other networks.
In 2006 and 2007 the band toured extensively throughout the UK building a fanbase, including supports with Scouting For Girls, Glasvegas, The Hoosiers and The Draytones.
In May 2007 the band released “We Expected” as a single in the UK. It gained excellent reviews and reached number 22 in the Radio 1 indie chart. Also in 2007 The Hussy’s had their song ‘Rock Concert’ used by a shoe company in the USA in their high-rotation television advert, as well as having songs used by MTV on their shows ‘The Hills’ and ITV2 show, ‘Paris Hilton’s New BBF’.
Featuring 13 tracks from the disco-esque radio-friendly stomp of ‘Roller Disco’ and ‘1980s’ to the pseudo-country ‘Poppy Day’ and piano ballad ‘Goodnight’, the self-released album is available to purchase now through the band’s own myspace page.
