N-Dubz frontman Dappy has pipped the nation’s sweatheart Cheryl Cole to the post to be named as the pop personality Brits would most like to see running the country.
The surprise win from the rank outsider saw him overtake Cheryl at the 11th hour in the poll of over 1000 Myspace users. With election fever at its peak the irreverent poll offered a chance to imagine the country run by our favourite rock stars and pop celebrities.
Cheryl’s fellow X-Factor judge Simon Cowell took third place with Morrisey in fourth place and the legendary Paul McCartney at number five. Katie Price’s ex Peter Andre and rehab singer Amy Winehouse fought it out at the bottom of the list with Amy just beating Peter to named the pop star the country would least like to see in power.
With Dappy settled at Number 10 we can expect him to make Dappy Hats compulsory attire and put hip hop on every curriculum. See below for the full list of who MySpace users feel would make the grade:
