Arcade Fire make our top 10 best Indie singles of 2010

1. Arcade Fire “We Used To Wait”- This is the most anticipated singles of 2010, with a brilliant performance at Reading and Leeds Festival as a sampler, it didn’t fail to please live and on CD. Taken from their latest album “The Suburbs,” there is no stopping this Canadian band from reaching a new level of experimental greatness.

2. Mumford & Sons “The Cave”- Played in most alternative night clubs, Mumford & Sons are still up there with this Indie. This catchy tune is just as likeable as their last single “Little Lion Man.”

3. The Futureheads “The Heartbeat Song”- This band has yet to disappoint and has brought some of the best material in the Indie industry right from the beginning of their careers. Their album “The Chaos” has made it’s place in out top 10 Indie albums. Since forming in 2004, The Futureheads have become one of the biggest Indie bands on the scene.

4. Interpol “Lights”- A chilled out single from Interpol this year, which has set the up for even more greatest for 2011. It is no doubt that 2011 will be full of tour dates, awards and surprises for this band.

5. Warpaint “Elephants”- One of the most weirdest songs in the top 10 however strangely works. Warpaint are in the top 15 for the BBC Sound of 2011, and with this song, are one of the biggest contenders. It can almost be said they’re the “newbies” to experimental Indie but are already making a big impression. Look out for them as the next big thing in 2011.

6. Jonsi “Animal Arithmetic”- Singer of Icelandic band Sigur Ros has released this song taken from his independent album “Go.” The song is a far cry from the band’s mellow tempo, posing a party theme feel.

7. Sleigh Bells “Tell Em”- “Tell Em” is the first track on their new album “Treats.” This is one of the most up tempo tunes in the top 10 and a very uplifting one. Best listened to Driving, at the New Year’s party and of course when you need a lift. This song will put a smile of anyone’s face.

8. Crystal Castles “Celestica”- This haunting track makes the top 10 for it’s mellow and catchy tone. With their latest album “Crystal Castles II” making greatest albums of 2010, it’s looking like their future is well and truly secure.

9. Manic Street Preachers “(It’s Not War) Just The End Of Love”- Not your typical Manic Street Preachers song but all the same, one of the biggest Indie hits of 2010.

10. The Temper Trap “Love Lost”- Another great single form The Temper Trap and the music video is just as commendable as the song. With their empty schedule for gigs and tours, there is no doubt that will soon fill up.
