FemaleFirst are holding the only Band competition worth entering this summer, and through the sackfuls of entries we’ve had over the past few months, we finally have our five finalists who are poised and ready to compete on July 12 in Manchester.
But before they draw their drum sticks and battle it out in front of our industry judges for the chance to win some incredible musical prizes, including a weekend at 3 Sixty Studios in London, a makeover by The General Store and a year’s Public Relations from momentum PR, we thought it was only fair we introduced our musical warriors.
Let’s find out more about The Shower Scene;
Who are you?
The Shower Scene
Who does what?
Eoghan - Vocals/Guitar, Goc - Guitar/Backing Vocals, Mikey - Bass & Ally - Drums
Where do you come from?
We come from Dublin, Ireland
Describe the sound of your band?
We are a pop punk band but with a slight edge. We will always put on our best show and always play our hardest.
Who do you look up to within the music industry?
We mostly look up to the bands we grew up listening to. The main bands that would influence us are: The Starting Line, Brand New, All Time Low & Blink-182.
What makes your band different from all of the others?
We're different from every other pop punk band these days because we don't follow a trend or want to do something because it's cool. We write and play what we think sounds good. It seems to be working for us so far...
What have you achieved as a band so far?
Since forming in November '07, The Shower Scene have quickly gathered a large fan base and to date have shared the stage with bands like Fall Out Boy (US), Go:Audio (UK) and The Wonder Years (US) and were the winners of Sunday World's LA or Busk competition '08.
The Prize for this was an all expenses paid trip to LA where they played to an American crowd in The Musician's Institute in Hollywood. Other accomplishments have been Eoghan winning best vocalist in the '07 Blastbeat National Finals.
Where would you like to be in 10 years from now?
I think we would still like to be touring and playing music. A big house, a flashy car and a hot wife wouldn't go astray either... Thanks, Eoghan x
