Amy Winehouse passed away on Saturday, with police saying that cause of death is 'as yet unexplained'.
We're going to take a look back at her career in music, with references to her issues limited to a final paragraph.
Starting songwriting at the age of 14, Amy released her debut album Frank six years later.
Receiving BRIT Award nominations for British Female Solo Artist and British Urban Act, Amy Winehouse also went on to win the Ivor Novello Award for Best Contemporary Song.
The success for Frank continued when it was shortlisted for the 2004 Mercury Music Prize.
By 2006, her working relationship with Mark Ronson began, as he co-produced her hit album Back To Black with Salaam Remi.
The album reached the top of the UK Ablums Chart several times, and even debuted at Number 7 in the US Billboard 200.
It sold over 1.85 million copies over 2007, making it the best-selling album that year.
Since her death, it also looks set to return to the top of the charts.
Singles from the album (including its 2007 deluxe edition) included huge hits 'Rehab' and a cover of The Zutons' 'Valerie.'
The latter peaked at Number 2 in the Singles Chart, and was also featured on Ronson's second album Version.
The years that followed so more awards and success, included winning Grammy Awards for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for "Rehab".
In addition, 'Back To Black' won Best Pop Vocal Album Award, and was nominated for Album of the Year.
She even added to that, wining Best New Artist.
This resulted in Winehouse being included in the 2009 edition of the Guiness Book of World Records, for the most Grammy Awards won by a British Female Act.
At the 2008 Ivor Novello Awards, Winehouse was the first artist to get two nominations for the top award, best song, musically and lyrically.
She also received a nomination for 'You Know I'm No Good' and took home the award for "Love Is a Losing Game" and.
'Rehab', which earned Amy a Novello win for best contemporary song in 2006, received a 2008 nomination for best-selling British song.
As of her death, the label were still pushing for a third album, although Winehouse's touring commitments and drug/drink issues prevented work from taking place.
It's surprising that, after taking away her addictions, you're left with a hugely successful, record-setting artist who will undoubtedly see a career revival in the wake of her passing.
