When Evanescence burst onto the scene with their number one hit ‘Bring me to Life' it was clear that they had that little something extra. The rock band, fronted by the tall, dark, beautiful Amy Lee remained commercial because of her delicate vocals combined with their dark edge and thrashy chorus. The band combined rap with rock to create their trademark sound.
Their 2003 debut album ‘Fallen' sold 15 million copies worldwide and helped the band win two Grammy Awards. ‘Fallen' spent 43 weeks on the Billboard top ten and went down in Billboard history as one of only eight albums to spend at least a year on the chart's top 50. There's no doubt that Evanescence inspired the nation to embrace their inner rock spirit and made 2003 their year in music. You go girl.
