Our favourite track of 2000 has to be Eminem's collaberation with Dido which saw him storm to number one in eight countries, perform onstage with Elton John and rank 290 in Rolling Stones' 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
Phew, what a good year for Slim Shady eh?
The lyrics tell a fictional story of an obsessed fan who sends Eminem countless letters without ever receiving a reply, by the time Eminem 'writes' back in the fourth verse, Stan has already killed himself and his pregnant wife by driving off a bridge.
The single was third to be released from The Marshall Mathers LP, long before the days of 8 Mile, and has graced many top song lists in it's ten year life span.
Not a very uplifting song to welcome in the new Millenium but still one of the best and most praised of the year. Welldone Eminem for reminding us not to take life for granted!
