2013 is well and truly a thing of the past, and we're getting into the spirit of the New Year by looking at some artists we expect big things from.
Men, women and groups are all preparing to make their impact on the industry - some already have - but who will be able to maintain relevance and become the biggest stars of next year? We've got our guesses in the following...
The Men
Adam Lambert
He's promised that if he doesn't have an album out next year, there must be "something wrong", so we're holding out high hopes for something on the same stellar level as sophomore album Trespassing! Adam's constantly impressing and pushing the boundaries, whether that's through his genre-blending solo music, his addition to Queen or his guest-appearances on Glee. We can't wait to see what he's got ahead of him in 2014.
John Newman
One of the biggest rising stars of the year was certainly John Newman, who seemed to appear out of nowhere with his unique style and tone. 2014 will be his truly defining year, and our money's on him doing even better than he has done in the past 12 months - we're right behind him to reach levels of super stardom.
Mark Hole
Recent album 'People Change' was a blessing to the ears, and as he revealed in his interview with Female First, 'You Gotta Love A Pop Record' - his next album - is currently in the works. After an exclusive listen to some of the music that's going to appear on that record, we can say he's going to return bigger and better than ever.
The Women
Betty Who
She's ready to recruit you to the 'Who Crew', as she closes out 2013 with a signing to RCA - going through Columbia Records in the UK. Hard at work in the studio on her upcoming debut album, she's already impressed with debut EP 'The Movement' and has also signed a publishing deal with Sony / ATV. 2014 will all be about this young lady.
Emma Stevens
With her hugely impressive first album - made up of four separate EPs - Emma Stevens made waves - literally and figuratively - and her excellent single 'Riptide' proved she has exactly what it takes to slot into the genre of pop music. Her hopes for 2014 are to be playing headline shows and major festivals, and we think they're both just around the corner for the rising star.
Ella Eyre
She was the unique and incomparable voice that was on Rudimental's smash-hit Waiting All Night, and she's now paving herself a way into the business. She's revealed her debut UK tour dates for March 2014, and her brilliant EP 'Deeper' was released last month and really got people talking. She'll certainly be one fighting for the throne of 2014, and she's a strong contender like no other.
The Groups
Concept
They've already got a strong and heavy following, and more music will be being released throughout the next few months. They're not afraid to keep learning, and with their hopes of creating a buzz about their music they've also got their eye on the UK number one spot. The sky's the limit for this young bunch of talented guys.
Rixton
Their hilarious music video for single 'Make Out' was one of the funniest of the year, and as they're already working with big names including Benny Blanco, we can't see them going anywhere but up the charts. Determined and talented group of lads who continue to impress.
Kingsland Road
Our favourite group from the crop of X Factor contestants in 2013, and we can't wait to see what they get up to in 2014 following a successful run of mini-gigs and concerts, Christmas light switch-ons and events. They even treated us to a performance in our offices, and their vocals are constantly on-point. Pair that with their infectious and cheery personalities and it'd be a travesty if the fivesome didn't get snapped up sometime soon.
