Jessie J has been announced as the headline act for this year's Henley Festival.

The British singing sensation will open the event on Wednesday, July 8, performing on the festival's River Thames floating stage, with further confirmed artists including Lionel Richie, Gregory Porter and Laura Mvula.

Speaking ahead of the event, Jessie said: "So excited to be headlining the opening night of the Henley Festival this year and performing alongside the likes of Lionel Richie!"

Held in partnership with BMW, the black-tie evenings will also include comedy, theatre, fine-dining and art between the dates of July 8 and July 12.

During opening night, Mark Watson is to perform stand-up comedy in The Salon Late, with further attractions coming from Adam Kay, Abandoman, The Horne Section, Adam Hills and 'The Only Way is Downton'.

Further acts at the Oxfordshire celebration include Gipsy Kings featuring Nicolas Reyes and Tonino Baliardo, with organisers teasing a "very special guest", yet to be announced for Sunday, July 12 - the closing evening.
