Whitest Boy Alive
After a long break from the UK, Whitest Boy Alive are returning for a special headline show at the legendary Scala in London on Thursday 16th April. This will follow the release of the second album ‘Rules' on March 30th out on their own label, Bubbles.
Fans can expect to hear the new songs from ‘Rules', classics from 2006 album ‘Dreams' plus they will be treated to different versions and remixes of familiar tracks. The Whitest Boy Alive tend to follow their own Rules for recording - four guys in one room, playing live - no overdubs, no FX. All their music is recorded live in one take and nothing is added which cannot be played live by the band.
‘Rules' sounds a little less indie pop than their debut, and perhaps a little more disco - sometimes even a touch of house. The Whitest Boy Alive's unique sound remains however, with Erlend Oye's (Kings of Convenience) distinctive vocals and a spare stripped down feel throughout.
The Whitest Boy Alive will also be playing Manchester's Ruby Lounge on 18th April. Joining the band at both of these dates will be Norwegian four-piece The New Wine, who have been featured on Erlend Oye and Mikal Telle's compilation CD of up and coming Bergen music.
