V Festival, sponsored by Virgin Media, returns for its fourteenth year with a truly heavyweight line-up for 2009. With 168 days to go, V promises a bill of must see acts with some of the biggest and best names in music today.

Over the 22nd & 23rd August 2009 at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire, festival goers will unite once again for a weekend to remember culminating with mighty headliners The Killers and Oasis. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday 6 March and music fans are being advised to contact official ticket outlets fast.

The Killers

A collection of music’s elite has signed up to give V the best bill yet, bands old and new will entertain music aficionados and festival debutantes alike giving them one hell of an experience. Headliners Oasis and The Killers, V icons Razorlight and Snow Patrol, other favourites including music maestros such as Fatboy Slim, Keane, The Specials, Elbow as well as festival newcomers like Pendulum, The Tings Tings, MGMT and Lady Ga Ga will be lighting up both sites.

Oasis

The Virgin Media Union stage sees lyrical genius Peter Doherty take to the stage and will be joined by a host of other exciting acts to be announced in the coming weeks. Strongbow and Bacardi are also back with a bang this year with exciting news of their offerings to be announced soon.

Festival Director, Bob Angus comments: “We’re genuinely thrilled to have such an eclectic line-up this year.,Our headliners, The Killers and Oasis, are two of the biggest acts in music today and with them being joined by some really exuberant newcomers, this summer’s V Festival is set to give festival fans something to shout about.”
