Channel 4 has today announced the first acts that will be playing at this year’s T4 On The Beach, sponsored by Aygo by Toyota, which hits the beach in Weston-super-Mare on Sunday 19 July.
Chart-toppers The Saturdays promise to make their mark as they make their debut on the beach, while dancefloor favourite Dizzee Rascal makes a long-awaited return to the Weston-super-Mare stage. Meanwhile, pop princess Alesha Dixon will make her first appearance as a solo artist after singing with Misteeq at the first event back in 2003.
Hot new breakthrough act Metro Station, featuring Miley Cyrus’ older brother Trace, make their first appearance at the event after a successful start to 2009, while hit dance producer Calvin Harris is set to return after a thrilling performance in 2007.
Last year over 25 acts performed at the event including Kelly Rowland, Duffy, Sugababes and The Ting Tings. Music fans should keep watching T4 weekends on Channel 4 as there will be many more acts and surprises revealed over the coming weeks.
T4 presenter Steve Jones commented: “I literally cannot wait to get on stage at T4 On The Beach again this year! It’s always a special day down in Weston-super-Mare and this year is going to be no exception. Tickets for the event went on sale last week and are selling fast, so music fans are advised to buy quickly to avoid disappointment. Tickets are priced at £35 and can be bought from Ticketmaster and channel4.com/t4onthebeach.
