As Austrian and Swiss residents breathe a sigh of relief this summer after being spared British football fans singing throughout the night in the streets of Vienna or Zurich, one Brit will be heard amongst audiences of the football watching world.

Natasha Marsh, who is currently signed to EMI Music, has been chosen by ITV Sport to be the voice of their Euro 2008 opening title sequence. She has made a special recording of Queen of the Night aria from Mozart’s opera, The Magic Flute and this will play out as the theme tune for the opening and closing credits of each broadcast.

Mozart, himself born in Austria, composed the aria to be one of the most demanding in opera, as the Sopranos in the role have to reach a high F6 note.

Natasha, who is fast becoming the UK’s favourite soprano, enjoyed massive success earlier in the year when her debut album Amour, which was released on EMI Classics went straight in at No.1 in the UK Classical Chart. Natasha has also toured with the likes of Il Divo, Russell Watson and Classical Brit Award winners Blake and is currently preparing to embark on a tour this summerwith Britain’s Got Talent winner Paul Potts this summer.

Currently residing in Buckinghamshire, Natasha was thrilled when ITV approached her with the offer:

“I believe it was after they heard me sing at this year’s Carling Cup Final in February that they decided I should sing the theme tune. I was delighted to do it. I love football, it is a phenomenal piece of music by Mozart, and also I love the passion, beauty and power that football and music share".

ITV will air a sneak preview of Natasha’s title music during coverage of the UEFA Champions League Final on May 21st on ITV1.

Natasha’s single, Queen of the Night will be available to buy exclusively on www.ITV.com as a digital download from May 22nd and from all other stores from June 15th. The album Natasha Marsh featuring Queen of the Night will be available in stores from June 23rd.
