With less than two weeks to go, and a line up crammed with the hottest names in rock and metal, Sonisphere organisers have still managed to pull another exclusive performance out the bag. Flying in from Chicago, Illinois, hard rock heroes SOiL will be making their only UK festival appearance at Knebworth. The band are very much looking forward to their flying visit, and giving fans a chance to hear some brand new material.
Bassist Tim King comments: “We are extremely excited to be part of the Sonisphere festival this year. We have just finished recording the new SOiL album "Picture Perfect". This will be an exclusive one date UK show to play some new material for the fans, as well as, some old classics!"
Their addition to the bill was a no-brainer.; With monster hits such as “Unreal”, “Redefine” and “Halo”, SOiL’s set promises to be one of the festival highlights, and even casual listeners will not be able to resist loudly singing along when the chorus of “Halo” kicks in. SOiL – you can’t help but dig it!
And that’s not all - there’s even more reason to be excited in the run up to Sonisphere, on Sunday 26th July NME Radio launches it’s first edition of the weekly Metal Hammer Meltdown show, hosted by Gill and Beez from Metal Hammer magazine. The first Sonisphere sponsored show goes out from 7-9pm, with lots of awesome Knebworth related content.
Expect brand new music from new and established acts and classics from the old time faves, as well as plenty of hard rocking hits from the Sonisphere line up. Also in the show will be the chance to win VIP tickets for Sonisphere, as well as an interview with Sonisphere director/organiser Stuart Galbraith.
This is exciting news for the rock and metal community, which has been crying out for a new specialist show. Now there’s brand new weekly two hour show, hosted by experts, dedicated to all the best things in the world of metal. And what’s more, the Sonisphere action will continue long after the last tent has been forced back into it’s bag.
Over the course of the Sonisphere weekend, Gill and Beez will be on site gathering exciting content from the festival, to run on the show throughout August. Expect exclusive interviews, backstage gossip as well as hard hitting tunes from the bands that made it all happen.
