Oasis

What should have been one of the biggest gigs of 2009, Oasis live at Heaton Park, ended in disappointment tonight after they were forced to abandon the show due to technical difficulties.

The band opened their set at around 9pm with their song, Rock And Roll Star, but were stopped mid-way due to a sound issue which led to the band walking offstage for around ten minutes whilst the park was filled with boos from the crowd.

When they finally returned and had a go at Lyla, the song was once again cut short due to even more sound troubles and Liam and CO walked off stage once again whilst a simple message was displayed on huge screens, informing fans that the troubles would be fixed as soon as possible.

However, there wasn't much hope in fans hearts as smoke started billowing from the piles of equipment and the generator was identified as a source of the woes.

Nevertheless, the band made it back onto stage after about three quarters of a hour and belted out their recent hit, The Shock Of lightening as well as old classic, Cigarettes and Alcohol.

The Gallagher brothers did vow to give fans their money back though, with Liam telling the crowd; "This is a free gig now. Everyone will get a refund." to which his brother Noel added: "The curfew's 11, but we'll play 'til they kick us off. Keep your ticket and you'll get your money back."

I know reimbursement is great, but surely fans would have preferred a full set?
