Everyone associates Glastonbury festival with rain, mud and portaloo’s but it seems conditions could be a whole lot worse for this years Glastonbury campers, as a weather expert had predicted monsoon conditions.
Dr Craig Wallace, who works at the University of Southampton, has been studying computer models of the weather and has claimed that there is a regular monsoon-type rain sweep in north western Europe at the end of June.
It is these monsoon sweeps that cause the annual washouts at the music festival, which lead to awful ground conditions for campers. He told The Times; "It's so predictable it seems easy to understand - but it's not."
Glastonbury takes place from June 24 to June 28 at Worthy Farm, Pilton and will be headlined by Bruce Springsteen, Blur and Neil Young.
