Newly famed alt-country troubadour Micah P Hinson returns to the UK for a full tour as of today, ahead of the release of new single âThrow The Stoneâ on the 24th November. The Micah tour wagon calls first at Cork tonight, all his tour dates are in full below.
With his recently released and fervently adored new album ââ¦And The Red Empire Orchestraâ, Micah P Hinson has emerged as a man rejuvenated and free from his past woes. â
And The Red Empire Orchestraâ (recorded with Polyphonic Spree/Explosions In The Sky producer John Congleton) has found Hinson hitting a fine musical stride and Micahâs life finally seems to be on track â he recently married his sweetheart having proposed to her on stage in London.
âIt feels like itâs the record Iâve been trying to make for the past four years,â he said recently. âI feel itâs more focused, and in that way reflects me much more, in that I feel much more focused as a human being.â
His latest single, âThrow The Stoneâ, seems to sum up Micahâs newly positive attitude. Built on infectious finger-picking, itâs one of the most uplifting tracks on the album, with a gorgeous string break and a wonderful Lee Hazelwood-style vocal from Hinson.
âFor years, youâve felt your whole life has been lies/Then throw the stone,â it says.
