To cap off 2008, London’s most unique and thrilling new music venue matter are mounting an enormously exciting (not to mention simply enormous) New Year’s celebration to really remember – and absolutely everyone is invited!
To usher in 2009, matter have truly pulled out all the stops and enlisted a staggering array of diverse talent. As the masters of ceremonies, matter have anointed none other than the Dewaele brothers, sometimes known as Soulwax, other times as Soulwax Nite Versions, but playing here in their seriously blistering, heart stopping, roof raising 2 Many DJ’s guise, and who are going to – nay, guaranteed to – make this a new year’s you won’t forget!
And that is just the beginning. To round the night up, matter are calling in the services of nothing less than the absolute crème de la crème of the electro firmament to rally round and give 2008 the proper sendoff it deserves.
Gomma Records’ Headman, for one, will be jetting in from his native Berlin to spread his trademark punk/techno/dance fusion to the revelling masses for one night only, while the electrifying Riton, who, as everybody is aware, knows a thing or two about getting the party started, will also be seizing control of the reins in the DJ booth for a spell.
And that’s before we even get to the white hot Filthy Dukes, with their insanely infectious brand of “electroacidhousenuravetwisteddiscopunkfunk†setting parties alight all across the globe, or world renowned rave rockers The Whip, long famed for their incendiary live performances and irresistible onstage energy.
Think that’s enough for a scorching party? Think again, as matter have also drafted in Manchester electropoppers and great white hopes Delphic for a sure to be brilliant live performance, as well as Tigersushi Records head honcho (and electro whiz/ remixer extraordinaire) Joakim, and newly appointed lords of the dancefloor Riotous Rockers to ensure the party doesn’t stop until we are well into 2009.
With an incredible line-up like that, matter’s NYE party is shaping up to be the party to end all parties, and, isn’t that all you’d possibly want in a New Year’s celebration?
