Liberation Nuts will be drumming up some fun at various festivals this summer as part of its on-the-road campaign to drive awareness for fair trade.

The organization, the first and only 100% fair trade nut company in the UK, which supports farmers in Africa, Asia and Latin America, will be taking its ‘Liberation van’ on the road for the first time this summer. Starting in Cambridgeshire on 24th July it will be visiting The Secret Garden Festival and the moving on to some of the best-loved festivals, offering free drumming workshops for festival revelers.

With its team of African drumming experts, Liberation will be both educating nut-lovers about the fair trade cause as well as encouraging people of all ages to come along and jam to the rhythm.

Getting on the road continues Liberation Nuts’ involvement in spreading the word for fair trade. On July 12th it held the UK’s first Flash Drumming event at London’s South Bank. Over 100 people gathered with drums and percussions of all shapes and sizes to make some noise for fair trade. Whilst seven million disadvantaged producers, workers and their families are benefiting from fair trade, millions more still remain at the mercy of unfair international trade rules. That’s why we need to do more than buy fair trade products – we also need drum up some real support.

Keep an eye out for the funky van as it will be coming to the Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and London area before stopping off at the festivals. Get Liberated!

Ilaria Ida, Head of Communications from Liberation Foods said: ‘Whether you jam like an African master or you’re a drumming virgin you can come and tune in to the rhythm. Healthy and delicious nuts will be available for sampling, and free drums will be provided. The idea is to have a lot of fun whilst at the same time spread the word about the importance of making trade fair.’
